Day in DC

On our way to New Jersey for my brother’s older son’s Princeton graduation, Liis and I spent May 28, 2011, in Washington DC. Only four days after Liis’ U.S. citizenship ceremony, it was instructive to be in the nation’s capitol and experience demonstrations in front of the White House, exemplifying what she’d studied in preparation for her citizenship exam. We ambled around the mall and White House areas on a very warm day, with no particular goal in mind.

Liis Takes the Oath

A Canadian, relocating from Vancouver, BC, Liis joined me in Seattle on July 15, 2007. On May 24, 2011, she became a U.S. citizen.

Two Short Walks

On my way to Glazer’s Camera, I took a few photograph in Denny Park and several more in the South Lake Union neighborhood. Later in the day, I walked through the Olympic Sculpture Park. The flowers in both locations appear to be enjoying Spring.
