On November 24, 2009, the exhibition East by Northwest: A New African American Experience opened at the Northwest African American Museum (NAAM). The show explores the history, culture and traditions of Seattle’s Ethiopian community, one of a number of East African nations whose immigrants are found in increasing numbers in the Pacific Northwest. The exhibition runs through October 3, 2010.
