Inside/Out Jazz Awards 2010

The Inside/Out Jazz Awards were presented on May 31, 2010, in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium of Seattle’s Benaroya Hall. Presented by Lucid, the event is the brainchild of Lucid proprietor David Pierre-Louis.

Awards were handed out in 13 categories:

• Free Jazz Band of the Year - Speak
• Latin Jazz Album - Manghis Khan
• Mixed Genre Album - Gravity – “Grimy”
• Band of the Year - The Teaching
• Outstanding Vocalist - Flora McGill
• Outstanding Lyricist - Darrius Willrich
• Outstanding Stage Presence - Owuor Arunga
• Outstanding Instrumentalist - Eric Verlinde
• Most Dynamic Concert - Evan Flory-Barnes’ “Acknowledgment of a Celebration”
• Composition of the Year - Evan Flory-Barnes’ “Acknowledgment of a Celebration”
• Rising Star - Brendan O’Donnell
• Contribution to the Community - Clarence Acox
