Kader and Hélène Attia, along with Elizabeth Brown and Paul Thorpe, joined Liis and me for dinner in our home on Monday, February 25, 2008. Kader Attia, a terrific young artist, has roots in Algeria and France; he and his wife Hélène currently reside in Paris.
Kader was on a month-long stay in Seattle, creating installations comprising part of an exhibition of his work that opened at the Henry Art Gallery on February 29. Elizabeth Brown, a curator at the Henry Art Gallery, was instrumental in bringing this exhibition to Seattle. Paul Thorpe is a carpenter and Elizabeth’s friend.
