Sam Hill (1857-1931) was a was a businessman, lawyer, railroad executive and good roads advocate who had a substantial impact in the Columbia Gorge area near Goldendale, WA, and throughout the Pacific Northwest. His tombstone sits just below one of his notable contributions, a replica of of the Stonehenge monument he had constructed as a memorial to fallen World War I soldiers from Klickitat County, WA.
