Nikon D7000 Informal Daylight Shooting Test

My Nikon D7000 arrived. It’s replaced a Nikon D300 as my second camera body and its ability to shoot DSLR video allows me to begin exploring that method of video capture.

I walked over to the Seattle Center on January 19, 2011, to take some shots for informal assessment of the D7000. In daylight and low ISO (1000 or less), my eyeball test concludes that the D7000 is at least the equivalent of the D300 in capturing sharpness and rich colors, if not the D300’s superior. At least with the Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 lens, I did not encounter any of the focus concerns described in various Nikon forums. Unless otherwise noted, the photos were captured at ISO 100.
