Seattle Center - April 24, 2011

Spring. Finally. After what felt like an unusually long, wet, dreary winter in Seattle, the past two days felt like Spring. Today, Liis and I walked up to the Seattle Center, which featured a typical variety of entertainment options for all ages, including the annual three-day World Rhythm Festival.

Cherry Blossoms at the University of Washington

Since I had a meeting at the University of Washington on April 12, 2011, I delayed my annual Spring cherry blossoms visit by a couple of days and slightly missed the best viewing, but it was still a good day to be on campus and the trees remained radiant.

Lake Union Park

Seattle’s new Lake Union Park opened last Fall. I made my first visit on a decidedly brisk April 9, 2011. An urban park, tucked into the south edge of Lake Union, the 12-acre park is a positive addition to the local area. With the burgeoning South Lake Union neighborhood nearby, The Center For Wooden Boats next door and the planned move of the Museum of History and Industry to the building formerly housing the Naval Reserve Armory, it is an exciting time for the area.
