Ballard Seafood Fest

On July 26, 2009, Liis and I made our way up to the 35th annual Ballard Seafood Fest. At one time, the Ballard neighborhood was the center of Seattle’s ethnically Scandinavian seafaring residents. These roots are more than hinted at in aspects of the local culture and of the Seafood Fest.

Worldwide Photo Walk

July 18, 2009, in Seattle, provided perfect weather for the Second Annual Worldwide Photo Walk. The activity, created by Scott Kelby in 2008, is “a social photography event where photographers get together, usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town, to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers.”

An estimated 900 groups met worldwide, including four different groups in Seattle. My group, led by Adobe Systems employee Tina Carter, met at Kerry Park and walked around the nearby upscale Queen Anne neighborhood.
