On March 2, 2011, the
Seattle Art Museum and the
Cascade Land Conservancy presented an insightful panel on Race, Class and the Environment. The event was held in the museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park. Panelists included Julie Nelson, director,
Seattle Office For Civil Rights; Tracy Rector, executive director,
Longhouse Media;
Dr. Sharon Sutton, professor of architecture,
University of Washington; and was moderated by
Donald Byrd, choreographer and artistic director,
Spectrum Dance Theater. The panel was part of an ongoing series of presentations on Art and the Environment.
