On March 18, 2010, a quartet of musicians from the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra (SRJO) performed at the Washington Athletic Club, in Seattle. In addition to the performance, SRJO co-artistic directors, Clarence Acox and Michael Brockman, gave a talk on the rich history of jazz in Seattle. The quartet included Michael Brockman (saxophone), Bill Anschell (piano), Phil Sparks (bass) and Clarence Acox (drums). I’m a member of the SRJO board of directors.
